Every child is different and unique in his/her own way. G.K brings out a learning programme wherein the learning goals are carved through three levels of enrichment, improvement and excellence in accordance with the potential of the child.
The evaluation process is objective and continuous for both scholastic and non-scholastic achievements of the students. In the scholastic category, there is a monthly unit test, retest, slip test, term examination, preparatory examination and annual examination in all the core subjects and languages. Grades are given in the non-core subjects such as music, art and craft, computer science and sports. Internal assessment is based on the students' performance in projects, seminars and assignments.
Fostering a warm, caring and sharing environment, G.K extends its personal, social and emotional support to students through counseling and mentoring. It also offers remedial and enrichment programmes for the slow learners.
As per the guidelines of Examination By-Laws of CBSE, New Delhi the assessment followed in the school is continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE). It takes care of assessment of all round development of child's personality. It includes assessment in scholastic as well as co-scholastic aspects of students' growth. The Primary Section Students (I to V) will be having Four terms / II semester each semester will have one unit test one oral & one term ending exam at the end of the term.
The senior's students VI to VIII will be having 4 terms, each term will have 1 Formative Assessment (FA) and 2 Summative Assessment (SA).
Formative Assessment is a tool used by the teacher to continuously monitor student's progress in non threatening and supportive environment. It involves regular descriptive feedback, a chance for the student to reflect on the performance, take advice and improve upon it. This is diagnostic and remedial assessment, which offers an opportunity to students to improve their work after feedback.
Summative Assessment is carried out at the end of the course of learning. It measures or sums up how much a student has learnt from the course. It is usually graded test, scholastic aspects include curricular or subject specific areas, whereas co-scholastic aspects include life skills, co-curricular, attitude, values & also sports & games.
